Finn of Tomland That SoM makes great music comes as no surprise to me since i have his wonderful releases on the very fine label diametric. already.
So it's great to have him back after a long hiatus and to hear this beautiful, very well crafted EP that takes you on a sonic journey from here to oblivion and beyond.
This is yet another Drone release for me to enjoy together with my Mathmos Space Projector as a guiding light.
Highly recommended.

David Nizet hace su arribo a Facade Electronics con este primer EP bajo su alias Sons Of Melancholia. Desde Bélgica, el artista sonoro ha compuesto cuatro postales sonoras basadas en grabaciones de campo por la región boscosa de High Fens en su natal Vielsalm.
Su producción y diseño de audio es de gran belleza, meticulosa y clínica, microscópicamente orgánica, con una fuerte sensibilidad hacia lo espacial, lo terrenal y lo meditativo. De ‘Voyageur Immobile’, David comenta: “La idea principal detrás de este proyecto fué dejarme guiar por mi intuición y mi sensibilidad hacia la naturaleza y el cosmos. Desde lo minúsculo hasta lo infinitamente vasto, para así, expresar mi gratitud y asombro ante tal belleza”.
Nizet, desde la década de los ‘90, ha sido parte de la escena de música electrónica como DJ y productor bajo varios pseudónimos y ha editado música en diversas disqueras alrededor del mundo, pero es bajo SoM que se dedica de lleno a la abstracción y experimentación sónica, pintando paisajes hipnóticos en sus viajes inmóviles.

David Nizet from Belgium arrives at Facade Electronics
with this, his first EP under his alias Sons Of Melancholia.
The european producer has composed four sound postcards based on field recordings from his walks through the High Fens region of his native Vielsalm. His production style is of great beauty, meticulous and clinical, microscopically organic, with a strong sensitivity towards the spatial, the earthly and the meditative. Of 'Voyageur Immobile', David comments: “The main idea behind this project was to let myself be guided by my intuition and my sensitivity towards nature and the cosmos. From the tiny to the infinitely vast, to express my gratitude and amazement at such beauty.”
Nizet, since the '90s, has been part of the electronic music scene as a DJ and producer under various pseudonyms and has released music on various labels around the world, but it is under SoM that he dedicates himself fully to abstraction and sonic experimentation, painting hypnotic landscapes in his motionless travels.
